Studio Philosophy

The essence behind New Hollywood

If you want to understand what we're building, keep reading.

New Hollywood is founded and led by me, Alex. What follows reflects how I see the world and forms the ground the studio is built on.

A Note From Me

Before New Hollywood became a studio, it existed as a perspective.

A way of looking at the world, people and creation itself.

This page gives shape to that perspective.

It shares the feeling and structure underneath the work.

What follows is the foundation.

How I See The World

Creation begins when expectation ends

I see the world as something that has been narrowed.

I don’t fundamentally believe the world is evil, doomed or irredeemable.

I do believe it has been over-defined. Too many rules passed down unquestioned, too many inherited thoughts, perspectives, points of view treated as facts,  too many lives lived on autopilot because "that’s how it’s done."

I see a world operating from memory instead of presence.

People are repeating patterns, systems, structures and identities that may have made sense once, but no longer do.

I think the cause of this is fear. Fear of pausing long enough to ask: is this still true for me? Because once the answer becomes No and that realisation is made consciously, there is no going back..

I believe the real crisis is internal disconnection - a collective forgetting of curiosity, choice, creativity and agency.

How I See People

We forgot who we are.

I don’t see people as bad, lazy, evil or unmotivated.

I see them as compressed. I see humans who are far more creative, intuitive and capable than they’ve been allowed to be.

I notice how early people learn to self-edit, perform, suppress instincts, outsource authority and confuse safety with truth.

I don’t judge it. I’ve been all of it, which is why I understand it.

I see that most people are not choosing small or inauthentic lives, they’re choosing the only lives they believe are available.

I have deep compassion for people who say they’re "fine" while feeling numb, hate their jobs but call it "normal", chase money, validation or productivity because they don’t know what else to reach for, sense there’s more but can’t name it.

I also see something hidden in plain sight: that beneath confusion, fear and compromise there is a quiet fire still alive inside all of us.

How I See The Future

A future that grows from within

I don’t see the future as something that will be saved by technology or revolution. I see it as something that will be grown, person by person.

I don’t see rebellion, protests, upheaval or conflict as the future itself. They’ve been ways we respond, not ways to create.

I see the future stabilising through subtle, cumulative shifts:

From expectation to curiosity

From performance to presence

From survival to creation

From obedience to sovereignty

I believe the future arrives quietly, through people choosing what feels true, building projects that reflect who they are, relating to money, success, love and identity differently, trusting their own rhythm instead of inherited patterns.

I don’t believe in a single improved or perfected system. I believe in many self-led lives creating new patterns organically.

The future, to me, isn’t rigid.
It’s fluid. Responsive. Alive.

The True Purpose of My Work

Guiding inner truth find an outer form, without distortion

At its core, my work has nothing to do with film, studios, development labs or content. These are forms I’m deeply drawn and passionate about, not the essence.

The true purpose of my work is to bring my own inner world - my knowing, feeling and perspective - into form without distortion. When what is true on the inside is expressed clearly on the outside, it creates space for others to do the same.

I stand at the threshold between knowing and doing, between desire and permission, between old systems and new ways of living. I use my knowledge, wisdom and experience to translate instinct into clarity, feeling into direction and inner truth into outer expression.

I help people discern what is real and what is avoidance, what is true desire and what is a consolation prize, what is theirs and what they’ve unconsciously inherited.

And I do it without telling anyone who to be.

That never worked for me. No one could tell me what to do or who to become. I had to find it for myself, by moving through fear, confusion, resistance, distraction and doubt until what was true became the only way.

So I don’t offer paths to follow. I just walk alongside, hold up a few signposts and create enough space for people to recognise their own direction.

What I Actually Want To Achieve

The more personal the work, the more universal it becomes

I want to create spaces that feel alive, fun and playful - where depth doesn’t have to be heavy.

I want to close the gap between what we say we value and how we actually live.

I want to create spaces where what’s often dismissed as idealistic becomes lived. Where our inner knowing isn’t something we discuss or debate from a distance, but something we inhabit and live from.

Where ideas about presence, truth, creativity and integrity are grounded in real, day-to-day choices. No longer treated as "nice to have" or adopted only when it feels "safe," they become the ground we stand on.

These ideas aren’t abstract or aspirational to me. They’re practical and they shape how we create, relate, choose and build.

I create this work through stories, the studio, collaborations and conversations, work that invites people to see themselves clearly, work that speaks to the parts of us we dismiss, judge or ignore.

What
is all this in
service to?

The more personal the expression, the more universal it becomes. It awakens the kind of recognition you feel when something is so specific it feels like it was made just for you, as if you’re the only person who’s ever felt it.

Through that recognition, people stop being afraid to look at themselves.

From there, people begin to trust what they already know and make conscious choices from clarity rather than habit.

Those choices ripple outward, creating a different way of living and, over time, a different world.
